Adam Lallana of Liverpool

Adam Lallana has been sorely missed by Liverpool this season due to a thigh injury he picked up before the start of the season. The English midfielder had one of his best seasons for us last time around as he scored 8 goals and 7 assists.

His creativity and movement have been lacking from this Liverpool side but there is some good news on the way, as the next step of Lallana’s treatment is taking place.

The Daily Mail reports that the club have sent the Englishman to Qatar to meet with a specialist and complete his recovery from the injury. The date pencilled in for his return is mid-November, and that might be a bit too far for most Liverpool fans.

Things are going to get extremely busy for us in the next month or so as we play 13 games in 44 days and we have already seen a number of players pick up injuries, which might further curtail our season this time around.

Lallana’s return will be a big help for us but he would have to pick up form big time if he wants to get into the midfield. There is a possibility of him playing out wide as Sadio Mane is out injured for 6 weeks, or even play as a creative midfielder, as Philippe Coutinho is still getting into terms of staying at the club for another season.

We do play Manchester United next and Lallana’s movement and ability to pick out a pass would be missed big time. But for now, all he can do is work on his fitness and get back to us in the best possible shape.

Liverpool also have a number of crunch games in the Champions League and a fit and firing Lallana might be the perfect answer to unlocking a number of defences in the months of December and January.

We should not rush him back and so sending him away might be the right thing to do for now. Hopefully, things will work out well for him, so that he can return to action and lead us to some glory.
