Sadio Mane cannot seem to catch a break as the latest news have confirmed that the 25-year-old Senegalese has picked up a hamstring injury. He will be out for at least six weeks.
Mane was away on international duty with Senegal during the international break and many would have expected him to be fit for the crunch clash against Manchester United at the weekend. Unfortunately, the winger is sure to miss the game against our arch-rivals and could miss a number of crunch fixtures for us.
The former Southampton man hasn’t been in the greatest of forms, especially after the red card he picked up against Manchester City, but he has still been a crucial part of our attack. Facing any side without Mane was a struggle for us last season.
Six weeks will see Mane miss a lot of major games like the ones against Chelsea and Tottenham in the Premier League and three Champions League fixtures too.
The timing of the injury could not have been worse as we have been struggling to finish teams off. With the upcoming weeks looking gloomy, the Liverpool fans were not happy as they vented their frustration on Twitter.

Terrible news about Mane, but it’s also an opportunity for someone to step up in his absence.
Let’s see if someone can do just that.— Andy Wales (@AndyArmchair) October 10, 2017

Fair play to Mane dude. Injuring himself so that other EPL players have a chance of getting POTM during October and November… pic.twitter.com/hckS5h5JBL
