Predicted Liverpool Line-up To Face Huddersfield Town In The Premier League

Liverpool will host high-flying Huddersfield Town on Saturday and will be wary of the visitors after David Wagner’s men beat Manchester United 2-1 last weekend. We have been struggling to get things going so far in the new Premier League season. Our problems at the back only keep increasing, and that was evident after we shipped four against Spurs last time out.

However, given the situation, the fans expect nothing short of a victory against a newly-promoted side, meaning the pressure will only intensify on Jurgen Klopp.

Team News

Dejan Lovren’s place in the team is under massive scrutiny after a series of worrying displays – the most recent one happening at Wembley. Sadio Mane, Adam Lallana and Nathaniel Clyne all remained sidelined with injuries, while Daniel Sturridge could be up for a start after Roberto Firmino’s ineffectiveness.

Here’s how Liverpool could line up against Huddersfield:

Manager: Jurgen Klopp

Formation: 4-3-3

Simon Mignolet (GK)

We have seen him do better and it will be crucial for him to do his best against an unpredictable Town side. Likely to do his usual job on Saturday.

Trent Alexander-Arnold (RB)

The youngster continues to be strong in this area and should receive a spot in the lineup.

Joel Matip (CB)

The most solid defender in our squad, Matip has been the only convincing figure in the back line. He is expected to secure a starting spot.

Ragnar Klavan (CB)

After never-ending disappointment from Dejan Lovren, it could be time for Klopp to deploy Klavan ahead of him.

Alberto Moreno (LB)

Defensive frailties continue for Liverpool but Moreno is still likely to essay his left-back role against Huddersfield.

Emre Can (RCM)

The German did show some encouraging signs, which could see him get a start but he will need to be at his best and must avoid complacency.

Jordan Hendersen (CM)

Hendersen’s struggles are quite well-known but his efforts have often gone unnoticed. He has been doing his duty but they are not yielding results. However, Klopp is likely to deploy him and the midfielder should be keen on doing better.

Georginio Wijnaldum (LCM)

Wijnaldum was lethargic in the couple of games but he should be aiming to get back to his best in the Premier League, making it likely for him to start against Town.

Philippe Coutinho (LW)

Coutinho has been thriving in his old position in Mane’s absence and is expected to make his contributions in the same role up front.

Mohamed Salah (RW)

Salah continues to be a beast up front for Liverpool and will be largely responsible for orchestrating and executing attacks.

Daniel Sturridge (CF)

Firmino’s performances have been quite lacklustre lately, which could see Klopp deploy Sturridge to make a stronger impact.
