Liverpool Handed Massive Injury Boost As Superstar Attacker Is Set To Return During The International Break

The mystery around Philippe Coutinho’s injury at Liverpool is close to getting solved, thanks to his Brazilian doctors. The midfielder has not played in our last three games due to an injury but he could be fit to return during the international break.

The 25-year-old has been called up by the Brazil manager and the national team doctor, Rodrigo Lasmar, gave his update on the injury of our star man.

As reported by the Daily Star

, Rodrigo Lasmar was speaking to Globo Esporte and said:

“Coutinho had a muscle injury in the adductor of the left thigh.

“He is in the final phase of recovery. We knew that he would not be fully fit, but we chose to make his final recovery with us.”

Lasmar also added that Coutinho might miss one game during the break but he might be ready to face one of the best sides in the world.

“The possibility of him playing against Japan is remote, but we work to make sure he’s available against England. He may not be able to participate [against Japan]. If he can, he could stay on the bench and play for a few minutes.

“But it’s a small chance. Our focus is to get him back for the second game.”

While Coutinho has scored 4 times and has provided 3 assists for us this season, he has not been the star of the show, thanks to Mohamed Salah’s amazing return of 12 goals in all competitions.

The Egyptian has actually kept us going when the likes of Coutinho and even Sadio Mane have missed out on a number of games. Even Adam Lallana has not played for us at all this campaign and once we get all our attacking players firing, we just might be able to cause more problems to the opposition.

There always will be a huge question over the future of Coutinho at Liverpool given what Barcelona did in the summer. Hopefully, Coutinho doesn’t pick up an injury during this international break and comes back fit and strong, as we have a number of crunch clashes coming up, especially in the Champions League.

A win against Sevilla and Spartak Moscow would be enough to get us through but we cannot lose any one of the games and maybe, just maybe, a bit of Coutinho magic can get us through.
