‘It would be great to see him at Liverpool’ Club Legend Urges La Liga Sensation To Move To Anfield

Ian Rush, a legend amongst the Reds fans, has come out and stated that he would want former Tottenham man Gareth Bale to sign for Liverpool.

The Welsh Wizard might have won a number of trophies with La Liga giants Real Madrid but he has fallen out of favour due to a number of niggling injuries. The player also has never been a fan favourite despite saving the club in the Champions League finals on a couple of occasions.

That, along with the rising talents of Isco and Marco Asensio have seen Bale fall down the pecking order but Rush also stated that the best option for Bale would be to stick with Real Madrid.

Speaking to the Mirror, the Liverpool legend said:

“Gareth Bale is a world class player – every club in the world would want him. From a Welsh point of view, I’d like him to stay, to get more European experience. That will benefit Wales.”

While Wales will not be playing a part in the upcoming World Cup, Rush was quick to add that almost every Premier League club would want to have Bale in their side and he would love to see his fellow Welshman at Liverpool.

“Any English club would want Gareth Bale,” he added.

“Maybe Tottenham have first offer. Man United has been talked about, maybe because the goalkeeper [David De Gea] could go the other way?

“I’d love to see him at Liverpool though. A world class player. We don’t know what will happen but it would be great to see him back here and at Liverpool.”

United A More Likely Destination For Bale

Rush did hit the nail on the head when he suggested that United could be the team that could get Bale. United have been linked with the Welshman for a couple of years and with the former Tottenham man also possibly looking to return to England, (I hate saying this) Jose Mourinho might be the one to get the deal done.

From our point of view, we do have a couple of world class wingers in Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane but Bale would provide a different outlet given his pace and strength. The Welshman might be getting older but having a quality player like that cannot hurt us.

Buying Bale from Madrid would be a tough task given that the Spanish club would ask for a lot of money and that is where the swap with De Gea could work out for Manchester United.

It seems like Bale would be too big a player for us at the moment and this is exactly what Klopp has to change at the club, which is to make us an attraction for the best players in the world.
