In what could have been a close victory and an amazing three points, an unfortunate late goal from Willian spoiled the result after Mohamed Salah opened the scoring against his former club.

It took the game a little more than half an hour to break the deadlock and it was none other than Liverpool’s Mohamed Salah, who would have completed his brace had it not been for an absolutely brilliant Thibaut Courtois. Slotting his 10th goal of the season, Salah gave Liverpool the lead in 65th minute with what can be described as a calm finish. Chelsea responded as the game approached its final five minutes and just 144 seconds after coming on to the field, Willian’s attempted cross, unfortunately, ended into the back of our net.

Klopp was left furious with the officials as the German wanted to make a change some seconds before Chelsea’s equaliser.

“I was angry because we wanted to change the system but the referee didn’t give us the opportunity,” the German told BT Sport (h/t BBC).

“I don’t know what he thought in this moment, he told me something about taking too long, I don’t understand it.

“How can we take too long? We didn’t want to time waste, we wanted to change the system and that’s why I was angry.”

Talking numbers, the game was perfectly poised in terms of possession, but it was the home team who enjoyed a majority of it (53%). Out of 16 attempted shots, the Reds only manage four shots on target. For Conte, on his part, of the 19 sides that the Italian has faced in the Premier League as a manager, Liverpool are the only side he has not beaten in the competition. A convincing stat but an unconvincing result, to say the least.

And with that being said and done, here is how the fans reacted to the draw:
