Mane Returns, Lovren And Can Out – Predicted 4-3-3 Liverpool Line-up To Face Stoke City

Predicted Liverpool Line-up To Face Stoke City In The Premier League

Liverpool will travel to the Bet365 Stadium this week, as they are set to face Mark Hughes’ Stoke City on Wednesday night, in the Premier League.

The Reds were on a three-match winning run in the league, until that was brought to a halt when they were held to a 1-1 draw at the Anfield by reigning champions Chelsea on Saturday. And manager Jurgen Klopp will be hoping his side get back to winning ways and put pressure on the top-four of the table to try and carve out a place for themselves.

Team News

Midfielder Emre Can and defender Dejan Lovren are slightly doubtful for the game due to injuries, while reserve goalkeepers Danny Ward and Adam Bogdan still remain sidelined alongside long-term absentee Nathaniel Clyne.

Here’s how the Reds might take the field against the Potters in the midweek fixture:

Manager: Jurgen Klopp

Formation: 4-3-3

Simon Mignolet (GK)

The Belgian is the chosen goalkeeper for the league games and that should stay the same against Stoke.

Trent Alexander-Arnold (RB)

The young defender could find himself back in the starting XI, at right-back, in place of England international Joe Gomez.

Trent Alexander-Arnold

Joel Matip (CB)

The Cameroonian made his return from injury against Chelsea and was very solid. Klopp will be hoping for more of the same from the former Schalke man.

Ragnar Klavan (CB)

With Dejan Lovren an injury doubt, Estonian centre-half Ragnar Klavan is likely to get another run out in the starting line-up on Wednesday.

Alberto Moreno (LB)

The Spaniard has firmly established himself as the first-choice in the left-back position ahead of Andy Robertson. That is unlikely to change.

Gini Wijnaldum (CM)

The Netherlands international could return to the starting setup against the Potters, with veteran midfielder James Milner making way for him.

Philippe Coutinho

Jordan Henderson (DM)

The club captain remains a trusted lieutenant for Klopp and he will start as the deepest of the midfield trio for the Reds.

Philippe Coutinho (CM)

Completing the midfield triumvirate for Liverpool should be Brazilian playmaker Philippe Coutinho. Will be the main string-puller for his side.

Mohamed Salah (RW)

The Premier League’s top goal-scorer is looking unstoppable at the moment and will pose the biggest attacking threat to Stoke on Wednesday.

Mohamed Salah

Roberto Firmino (CF)

The Brazilian forward was controversially dropped for the draw against Chelsea but should be reinstated to the starting XI in place of Daniel Sturridge.

Sadio Mane (LW)

Another player who was surprisingly excluded for the weekend fixture, the Senegalese should return to the line-up, despite his bust-up with the manager.
