Deal Done: Goalkeeper Signs On The Dotted Line To Agree Five-year Contract At Anfield

Liverpool fans have been witness to the rise of many young players across the months, especially under Jurgen Klopp. The likes of Ben Woodburn, Joe Gomez and Trent Alexander-Arnold have seen regular first-team minutes and another prospect for the future has signed a new deal at the club.

The Liverpool Echo reports that Kamil Grabara has signed a new five-year deal to stay at Anfield, something his management side have also confirmed.

The youngster will turn 19 next month and has been one of the most impressive players in the youth setup. It is because of his quality that the club have taken the step to offer him a new deal to keep him at Liverpool until 2022.

Quickly Moving Up The Ranks At Liverpool

Often a player moving to a new side takes a lot of time to get up to speed but that was not the case with Grabara. The youngster was signed in 2016 from Ruch Chorzow and is already a key member of the U19 team that Steven Gerrard manages.

The keeper did help us into the next round of the UEFA Youth League too and will be looking to achieve a number of accolades before making a move to the first-team soon.

Gerrard is also of the opinion that Grabara has a great future ahead of him and the Polish keeper also seems to be great at commanding the box and claiming crosses, something we have seen Simon Mignolet struggle with over the years.

Our keeping situation still is up for grabs and with Mignolet and Loris Karius not really impressing in recent months, we might see someone like a Danny Ward also get a chance to prove himself in the future.

Grabara knows that he is far from making it to the first-team or even making it to the bench given that there are three keepers who are a part of the first-team. However, with the right temperament and performances in the youth teams, the Pole could be the one for the future.

Liverpool haven’t given a lot of chances to young keepers from their academy setup but let’s hope Grabara becomes the first one to make it to the first team on a permanent basis.
