Predicted Liverpool Line-up To Face West Brom In The Premier League

Liverpool were left ruing their chances after Everton skipper Wayne Rooney equalised from the spot after the referee ruled Dejan Lovren’s push on Dominic Calvert-Lewin as worthy of a penalty.

The Reds took the lead through Mohamed Salah’s sublime curling finish from an angle towards the end of the first half. Sadio Mane wasted a fine opportunity to double the lead before Everton, who had only one shot on target from open play, were awarded the 77th-minute penalty which Rooney calmly slotted past goalkeeper Simon Mignolet.

Despite the 1-1 stalemate in which the hosts dominated, Jurgen Klopp’s men will be high in confidence when they take on strugglers West Brom on Wednesday in the Premier League. Liverpool’s record at Anfield is far from impressive and they need to be at their lethal best to grab their 5th home league win of the season and keep pace with our rivals.

Meanwhile, Alan Pardew’s West Brom are just a place above the drop zone and come into the game on the back of a 1-0 defeat against Swansea City.

Team News

In the early team news, Liverpool are still without the likes of Nathaniel Clyne, Joel Matip and Marko Grujic. Alberto Moreno missed the Merseyside derby amidst fears that the Liverpool full-back could be out until the New Year if scans revealed a damage to ankle tendons.

Meanwhile, Emre Can and Dejan Lovren are a single booking away from accumulating 5 yellow cards and subsequently receiving a one-game ban.

Formation: 4-3-3

Manager: Jurgen Klopp

Simon Mignolet (GK)

Mignolet has been decent in the last couple of games and would aim to keep a clean-sheet against a blunt West Brom attack.

Joe Gomez (RB)

Gomez has been good and effective in almost every game he has started.

Dejan Lovren (CB)

Just when things were falling in place for Lovren, he made a costly error by conceding a penalty to Everton through which the visitors scored. Yet, he will start on Wednesday.

Ragnar Klavan (CB)

With Matip out, Klavan will again partner Lovren in the heart of the defence. The Estonian is gradually adapting to the pace of the Premier League.

Andrew Robertson (LB)

Robertson stepped up well in Moreno’s absence against Everton and will start again on Wednesday.

Jordan Henderson (CDM)

The skipper will start in his usual role, as the deepest of the midfielders and look to dictate the tempo of the game.

James Milner (CM)

After yet another impressive performance in the midfield against Everton, Milner would be raring to go against Pardew’s men.

Philippe Coutinho (CM)

Another player who was on the bench against the Potters, Coutinho has been in blistering form lately and should start this game.

Mohamed Salah (RW)

A brilliant piece of individual skill against Everton gave Salah his 19th goal of the season. It’s astonishing for a player who Liverpool got for a cheap price in this inflated market. He is an odds-on favourite to score this Wednesday.

Mohamed Salah

Sadio Mane (LW)

Mane’s selfish decision not to pass to a team-mate cost Liverpool the killer goal in the weekend’s derby where Everton scored late on to snatch a point. However, he will be a given a chance against the Baggies, to make amends for his costly mistake.

Roberto Firmino (ST)

It came as a huge surprise to us when the starting XI included Solanke and not Firmino, against Everton. On Wednesday, Firmino should lead the attack.
