Liverpool squandered chances once more and filled all of us with a lot of frustration as the Gunners managed to salvage a point. It was an entertaining match undoubtedly but to settle for one point after having a two-goal lead is just unfathomable.
Dominating Arsenal in the first-half was not all that tough – in fact, we did seem like the better team for a good majority of the game. Until the break, at least, it looked like those 3 points were ours. At that point, I’m guessing even the Arsenal supporters thought so, judging from their boos right before half-time.
The first two goals were quite brilliant though. It all started after Firmino headed just wide and failed to open the scoring. Philippe Coutinho took on the responsibility and punished Arsenal with an impressive goal. From then on, we did have quite a lot of chances to score more but eventually, Salah scored right after the break.
While we were looking for ways to increase our lead, Arsenal hit us on the counter-attack. A header from Alexis Sanchez came in right after Salah’s goal and the Gunners were one goal closer to catching us. And then came Simon Mignolet’s effort to try to save Granit Xhaka’s goal. What should have been a routine save, ended up being a decisive goal that helped Arsenal equalise. To be very honest, it could have been stopped if only the goalkeeper raised both hands instead of one.
From then on, Arsenal looked stronger and they even took the lead to make it 3-2. However, Firmino – God bless him – made it 3-3 and that was that. We managed to seal one point, which means we are still at 4th spot in the league table and ahead of Arsenal by a solitary point.
The reaction was rather mixed and here are some interesting tweets we came across. Read on!
FACT: Liverpool have lost 43 points in the league from winning positions, since Jurgen Klopp was appointed manager.
The highest amount from any team in Europe. pic.twitter.com/gcbzgjyBYA

Since Jurgen Klopp took charge of Liverpool, he’s spent: £36m on Salah, £35m on Chamberlain,
£34m on Mane and £25m on Wijnaldum. But only £17m on goalkeepers and defenders.— Mootaz Chehade (@MHChehade) December 22, 2017

I’m 18, I can only properly remember Liverpool winning one trophy in my lifetime and it was the League Cup. I’m KloppOut if things haven’t changed by September.

Liverpool have got the hardest part of footie absolutely boxed off; we attack so well and score for fun. The easiest bit is keeping the ball out of your goal and we can’t do it and it’s mainly personell related….

Name a team with a better attack than Liverpool’s (Man City aside)….
There isn’t.
Name a better defence….
No prizes for guessing where our problem is.

Can’t believe it’s nearly 2018 and Simon Mignolet still plays for Liverpool. The guy is garbage.

Liverpool have conceded 140 goals in the past 3 seasons and are on course to concede around 48 this season, that’s averaging nearly 50 goals a season. That’s mid table or even bottom of the table numbers an never gonnal win a title
