Liverpool Look To Steal A March On Arsenal In Race To Sign £42million South American International

Liverpool are all set to go head to head with the fellow Premier League rivals Arsenal in order to acquire PSV’s 22-year-old winger Hirving Lozano, claims an exclusive report from Daily Star.

Th aforementioned source claims that the Premier League duo is set for a bidding war, with a proposed £42million price tag on the player after Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger had thought he had stolen the march on landing Lozano, a 24-time capped Mexico international. The Gunners were expected to be the only candidates for his signature, but it seems like Jurgen Klopp has entered the fray as well.

Lozano only joined PSV back in June, after impressing one and all with his extraordinary performances for Mexican side Pachuca and signed a six-year deal with the Dutch outfit. Wenger is reportedly keen on landing Lozano, who is nicknamed ‘Chucky’, mainly due to the fact that Alexis Sanchez’s future is under heavy scrutiny.

The Chilean will enter into the final six months of his current contract and despite the fact that Arsenal are ready to offer him a new deal, the 29-year-old has not agreed to terms.

The departure of the Chilean looks imminent and by the January transfer window, he will be eligible to discuss a pre-contract agreement with the non-English clubs. This is where Hirving Lozano comes into the frame but then again, signing him won’t be a walk in the part given that Liverpool are in the race as well. Also, it remains to be seen whether PSV will sanction a move or not, given that the Mexican only joined them in the summer.

Liverpool, on the other hand, have had their worries as well, given that Philippe Coutinho has been linked with a move to Barcelona yet again. The La Liga table-toppers have already failed with multiple bids for the Brazilian, and they are well expected to launch another offer given that their chief executive Oscar Grau has already confirmed they will come back with another bid.

Many might wonder who Hirving Lozano actually is and in case you are unaware of him, give us the freedom to give a brief about his style of play. Once named as one of the best players in the world born after 1994 by Don Balon, Lozano will be a like-to-like replacement for Philippe Coutinho due to his attacking blueprint.

Described by many as an inverted winger, Lozano has that knack of cutting into the area from the channels. He is quick and is capable of complementing his teammates with vision and also surprise the opposition by firing a venomous strike from distance.

Would Lozano be a good signing for Liverpool?
