Predicted Liverpool Line-up To Face Leicester City In The Premier League

Liverpool will be in action on Saturday when they host Leicester City at Anfield in the Premier League. The Reds dismantled Swansea in their previous Premier League outing at Anfield. A Roberto Firmino brace and goals from Philippe Coutinho, Trent Alexander-Arnold and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain gave them a 5-0 win against the struggling Swans.

One of the week’s biggest news is that the Reds have finally captured their man- Virgil Van Dijk- in a world record fee £75m for the defender and will see him move to Anfield after two and a half years at Southampton.

Meanwhile, Leicester City come to Anfield with a hope of putting their upsetting 2-1 defeat at Watford behind and pick up a point or three from this game. The Foxes have done well decently under manager Claude Puel and the ex-Southampton manager will look to inflict pain on the Kopites.

The last time the two sides met was at King Power Stadium, where Liverpool prevailed 3-2; thanks to goals from Coutinho, Henderson and Salah.

Team News

Skipper Jordan Henderson and Alberto Moreno remain sidelined through injury while Marko Grujic and Daniel Sturridge are both doubtful. Meanwhile, Dejan Lovren will have to be careful as the Croatian is on 4 yellow cards at the moment.

Probable Liverpool XI

Formation: 4-3-3

Manager: Jurgen Klopp

Simon Mignolet (GK)

Mignolet has come under a lot of fire lately but Klopp has shown faith in the Belgian. He is expected to start again on Saturday.

Trent Alexander-Arnold (RB)

Scored a beauty against Swansea. The youngster’s confidence is bursting through the veins and must start against the Foxes.

Joel Matip (CB)

Matip returned to the starting XI against Swansea and exerted so much calmness in the back-line. However, Swansea rarely threatened us.

Ragnar Klavan (CB)

The Estonian centre-half has been fairly solid of late and will be hoping to continue in the same way against the visiting Leicester side.

Andrew Robertson (LB)

Andrew Robertson has stepped up very well in Moreno’s absence and will start again on Saturday.

Emre Can (DM)

In Henderson’s absence, Can will be tasked to do the dirty work of shielding the defence and spray passes. He has looked sluggish in the last few games and needs to get back his mojo soon.

Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain (CM)

Impressed again in the last game by scoring the 5th goal against the hapless Swansea. The ex-Arsenal man seems to have finally settled into the team.

Philippe Coutinho (CM)

The Brazilian is in the best form of his life. Scored the opener against Swansea with a cracker of a shot. A sure-shot starter!

Mohamed Salah (RW)

It was one of those rare days for Salah to not find the back of the net. Nevertheless, supplied the assist for Firmino’s second goal.

Sadio Mane (LW)

Mane’s form has seen a dip and was an unused substitute against the Swans. He needs to prove his mettle should he get a chance at the weekend.

Roberto Firmino (ST)

A brace against Swansea further demonstrated the form he is currently living with. It’s his movement that makes him a better player and at present, he is keeping bonafide striker Daniel Sturridge very far from the starting line-up.
