Paris Saint-Germain winger Lucas Moura’s representatives have offered him to Liverpool despite the fact that Manchester United are interested in signing the Brazilian, claims a report from French outlet Le Parisien.
The 25-year-old Brazil international has grown frustrated at the capital club given that he has only been offered 72 minutes of Ligue 1 football so far this season. The arrival of the likes of Neymar and Kylian Mbappe has killed Moura’s chances of getting into the first-team. Till date, he has not started even a single Ligue 1 fixture or a Champions League game. His only starts (2) have come in the domestic cup competitions.
According to the French news outlet Le Parisien, Moura has no intentions of continuing his career at the Parc des Princes, while at the same time, does not really want to move to either AS Monaco or Lyon. A move to the Premier League has long been touted, but it remains to be seen which club gets his signature first.
Manchester United, on their part, have been long-term admirers of the Brazilian and have been tracking his progress since he was 19 years of age, which was during the days of Sir Alex Ferguson. The 25-year-old, however, decided to ditch the 20-time Premier League champions to move to Paris Saint-Germain in 2013. Currently, the 25-year-old has 18 months left on his PSG contract.
The aforementioned source claims that his representatives are pushing for a move to Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool rather than Manchester United. The move actually makes sense given that we now have a huge void to fill, after the £142m departure of Philippe Coutinho to Barcelona.
As far as Liverpool are concerned, they will certainly be benefited heavily from having someone like Moura in their ranks. The Brazilian is of the similar ilk to that of Coutinho; he loves taking on defenders, loves cutting inside and most importantly, loves firing long-rangers; something that the Liverpool fans will miss from this point on.
