Fulham’s teenage sensation Ryan Sessegnon has been earning attention for all the right reasons. He has already established himself as one of the most promising young stars in the Championship for his blistering displays on the left flank. Despite being a defender, the player is notorious for making generous contributions to the attack as well. We all got to see more than a glimpse of his capabilities as he scored a stunning brace in a match against Burton Albion.
Considering the kind of high-pressing, attacking displays Liverpool have put up ever since Jurgen Klopp took charge, it comes as no surprise that we were linked with a move to sign him.
At just 17 years of age, Sessegnon is the ideal mix of pace, power, creativity, stability and raw talent. Moreover, he has garnered quite a lot of experience as well, meaning he will be considered for first-team opportunities regardless of who he joins. Although we were aggressively pursuing him last summer, the youngster chose to stay put and snub the opportunity to play in the Premier League.
His current contract lasts until 2020 and the Championship outfit are understood to be demanding £50million for his signature. Ordinarily, that sum would have been considered outrageously expensive for a defender, let alone a teenager. However, anybody who has seen Sessegnon play will understand why he is valued at such an exorbitant amount.
Regardless, that has not stopped Liverpool fans from urging the club owners to bring him to Anfield. His performance against Burton Albion was so convincing that it sent several Reds fans into a frenzy and given his potential, one cannot blame them.
Ryan Sessegnon has 16 career goals from LB/LW and he’s only 17. Mad.
