Borussia Dortmund are trying everything possible to tie down talented young attacker Christian Pulisic to a long-term deal in order to fend off interest from Liverpool, Manchester United and Bayern Munich.

The 19-year-old is contracted with Dortmund until the summer of 2020 and having lost Ousmane Dembele to Barcelona at the start of the season and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang today to Arsenal, the German club would be reluctant to part ways with Pulisic.

The Mirror report that Liverpool are interested in signing the USA star, while Manchester United are also closely monitoring his situation at Signal Iduna Park. While Pulisic has already started attracting interest from across Europe, Sporting director of Dortmund Michael Zorc is set to meet with the player and has admitted that he has no intention of selling the attacker this year.

“We plan well beyond the summer with him,” Zorc has declared as quoted by the Mirror.

As far as Liverpool are concerned, Jurgen Klopp has already lost star playmaker Philippe Coutinho to Barcelona this month and striker Daniel Sturridge to West Brom on loan until the end of the season. Klopp is understood to be a big admirer of Pulisic and may eye him as the player to replace the boots of Coutinho at Liverpool in the summer.

Pulisic, who mainly plays on the left-wing, would provide competition to Sadio Mane and other attackers should he join the Reds in the summer. But Klopp knows that luring the talented attacker to Anfield is tough and is expected to face tough competition from Jose Mourinho’s United.

However, given that United have attackers like Anthony Martial, Jesse Lingard, Marcus Rashford and Alexis Sanchez who all play on the left it is highly unlikely to see Mourinho bolster his attack in the summer by signing another wide-man.

If not United, Liverpool could face competition from Bayern Munich, who are in the hunt for a player to replace the ageing Franck Ribery. Bayern have a history of luring away the Dortmund stars and there is a high possibility of Pulisic leaving Signal Iduna Park for Allianz Arena.

Hence to avoid such a scenario, Klopp has to start planning from now on to make a move in the summer. Pulisic, who is considered as one of the hottest talents across Europe, could be a gem of signing for Klopp.
