Harry Kane Tottenham

Liverpool face Tottenham in what is going to be the clash of the weekend as the battle for a top four spot heats up. We are in third place and a win over Spurs would put us in a great position to finish the season in the Champions League places.

The problem lies with the fact that Spurs too are in good form and the mauling we received at their hands early on in the season will remain fresh in our minds.

One player who was a thorn to our side in that game was Harry Kane as he made Dejan Lovren and Joel Matip’s lives miserable. The Englishman might not have scored in the last game against Manchester United but he was a problem for Jose Mourinho’s men too.

There will be a lot of eyes on the big players at Anfield and John Aldridge was speaking on LFC TV (h/t Inside Futbol) and stated that he would want Kane at our club.

“What can you say about Harry Kane which has not been said?

“If a genie was to appear now and say ‘John, you can have any player to come and play for Liverpool in the Premier League’, he would be the man.”

Kane does have the stats to back his role in any team in the world. The 24-year-old is the top scorer in the Premier League with 21 goals and has banged in 32 goals in all competitions.

While we do have a slick forward line with goals coming from Roberto Firmino and even Mohamed Salah, there is no doubt that Kane would be a player that everyone would love to have at their club. He would fit our system really well, given his energy and endless running.

The 24-year-old has been generating interest from a lot of top clubs in the world but it doesn’t seem like he would leave Spurs anytime soon.

Sunday is going to be a crucial clash for us and if we can keep Kane on a leash, we just might have a chance of picking up three points and creating some distance between us and one of the brightest teams in the country.
