Liverpool are looking to solve their goalkeeping woes and have targeted Real Madrid’s Keylor Navas, as per various reports. Navas has been Real’s No.1 for a couple of years, as the Spanish giants have tasted huge success under manager Zinedine Zidane.

However, Spanish outlet Diario Gol suggests that the Costa Rica international has an offer from Liverpool. Simon Mignolet and Loris Karius have underperformed between the sticks at Anfield and Jurgen Klopp wants a permanent fix in the summer.

While Mignolet has attracted a lot of flak from the fans as well as pundits in the last few years, Karius, who has been recently promoted as the No.1 goalkeeper at Anfield, has failed to repay the faith shown by Klopp. This has left the Liverpool manager frustrated and come summer, he has already planned to get a new goalkeeper in order to solve the problem.

However, Navas reportedly feels that a move to Liverpool would be a step back in his career, given that he has tasted back to back Champions League glory and League success during his time with Real.

Real are enduring a tough time this season and were held 2-2 by Levante on Sunday. The draw was another blow to Zidane’s aspirations of making it to the top four this season and qualify for the Champions League next season.

It is understood that the La Liga giants could undergo a complete overhaul in the summer following their lacklustre performances this season. It could even mean sacking Zidane and getting a new manager with a brand new set of players.

Navas’ future, although he has performed admirably this season, could be in big doubt after the end of the campaign. Manchester United goalkeeper David de Gea has been heavily linked with a move to Bernabeu in the last couple of years, while Chelsea’s Thibaut Courtois also remains on the club’s radar.

The Reds would also face no financial issues if they were to sign Navas, who has been an underrated performer for the Spanish outfit. He has a wealth of experience to solve the goalkeeper conundrum at Anfield.
