Twitter is a place that often turns into a battle-ground for people with differing opinions and Piers Morgan is certainly no stranger to that. The TV presenter has had his own fair share of controversies on the social media platform but this time, he appears to be in the news for all the right reasons. After Liverpool’s 4-1 thrashing of West Ham United, Morgan tweeted that our very own Mohamed Salah is the best player in the Premier League since Thierry Henry.

That’s right. Morgan strongly believes that Salah is the best player to have forayed into the Premier League after Arsenal icon Thierry Henry.

Now, we all know what a revered figure Henry is among Arsenal fans and to have a Gunners fan make a claim like that is quite astonishing, and pleasant. Henry is a modern-day legend and while it is too soon to call Salah something similar, there is no denying that he has been in outstanding form for us throughout the season so far. Be it his sensational goals or blistering pace up front, Salah has been simply phenomenal and that has made him a fan-favourite at Anfield.

He has scored a whopping 31 goals already this season – which is a lot more than most central strikers have even gotten close to scoring so far. In fact, he has even equalled Luis Suarez’s record of 31 goals in a season for Liverpool. We have one of the best attacks in the Premier League this season and although Manchester City are sitting on the top of the table, there is no doubt that we could have given them a tough fight had it not been for our leaky defence.

However, there is no doubt that Klopp will bring in reinforcements over the summer and Salah will be vital for us in the seasons to come. He is currently one goal behind Tottenham Hotspur goal-machine Harry Kane on 23 goals in the Premier League this season and it will be interesting to see if he can actually outscore Kane to win the Golden Boot by the end of this campaign.
