Fulham whizkid Ryan Sessegnon would prefer to sign for Liverpool at the end of the season, according to reports.
The 17-year-old is wanted by a host of Premier League clubs, including Tottenham Hotspur, Manchester United and Manchester City.
And as per today’s reports, Sessegnon is ready to make a move to Anfield as he wishes to play under manager Jurgen Klopp.
The Reds were keen on the teenager last summer and was identified by Klopp as a possible long-term left-back at Anfield. But Sessegnon stayed with Fulham, signing a contract extension and Liverpool instead went on to sign Andrew Robertson from Hull City.
The Liverpool ECHO reports that the Reds had tried to sign the 17-year-old but talks between the clubs proved difficult.
However, the youngster has decided now to favour a move to Anfield despite very strong interest from Spurs and United, reports the Express.
Sessegnon is considered as one of the brightest talents in Europe after lightening up the Championship with Fulham this season.
The teenager did sign a new contract last summer to stay at Craven Cottage until 2020 but it is now expected that he will have loads of offers in the summer.
The report adds Sessegnon could have moved on last summer but stayed in the Championship to get regular first-team football. After gaining good experience at Fulham, the prodigy is now ready to make a move in the summer and has set his heart on Liverpool if the Cottagers don’t win promotion to the Premier League.
Sessegnon has been a different beast for Fulham this season, scoring 14 goals in 36 league appearances. He has played both in defence as well as in attack and his versatility at such a tender age shows what a gem of a player he is and the talent he possesses to become a future star.
It is understood Klopp and Liverpool had recognised Sessegnon’s talent last summer but somehow the move didn’t materialise. However, with the teenage starlet now favouring a move to Liverpool, it is good time for the Liverpool board to start making plans for the summer.
Sessegnon is highly rated in Europe and after impressing at Fulham, he is certain to make a move to the Premier League in the summer.
