Liverpool will try to beat Arsenal for Real Madrid winger Lucas Vazquez, who is keen to leave Santiago Bernabeu at the end of the season, according to the Daily Mirror.
The report states the Reds could tempt the Spaniard to join them with the assurance of an attack-minded, high-octane brand of football.
The likes of Sadio Mane, Roberto Firmino and Mohamed Salah have all benefitted from the attacking play under manager Jurgen Klopp, with the Egyptian being a revelation this season. Liverpool’s front-three have ripped apart opposing defences with their pace, guile and creativity this season.
Klopp is interested adding Vazquez as a cover to his wingers according to the Daily Mirror, however, Real Madrid’s interest in Mohamed Salah may see the clubs enter talks over a potential swap deal at the end of the season.
Real have struggled to defend their title this season and are on the verge of losing their throne to arch-rivals Barcelona this campaign. And in this topsy-turvy season, Vazquez has impressed Zinedine Zidane the most, yet the Spaniard has failed to nail down a regular place in the first-team.
The Daily Mirror claim that Arsenal could provide Vazquez with an opportunity to redeem himself and remain the favourites to sign him in the summer transfer window.
In my opinion, Vazquez is a really talented player short of regular game time due to the presence of star forwards like Cristiano Ronaldo, Karim Benzema, Gareth Bale and Isco.
If the Spanish attacker is willing to leave Bernabeu at the end of the season, Liverpool should have a go but not even think of involving Salah in a transfer swap.
