Even with the international break on, we did get to see Liverpool in action, albeit in a game against Bayern Munich with a number of legends coming out to play.
The match between the Liverpool legends and Bayern Munich legends ended in a 5-5 draw and saw us score the last goal of the game with three minutes left to send the crowd happy and well, fully satisfied, thanks to a crazy goal fest.
As reported by the Liverpool Echo, the match saw a turnout of 54,000 fans and also raised more than £1million for the LFC Foundation.
We got to see one of our best Premier League players, Xabi Alonso and also saw some of the other Champions League winning heroes from 2005 in Jerzy Dudek, John Arne Riise, Didi Hamman, Vladimir Smicer and Luis Garcia.
Of course, we saw the English pair of Steven Gerrard and Jamie Carragher play but a number of fans sang out loudly for dear old Xabi Alonso.
The Spaniard left us to join Real Madrid but he still called Anfield his home when he was interviewed.

That set Twitter in motion with a number of fans sharing their love for the midfielder and here are some of the best reactions we came across.
It would be amazing for Stevie G and Xabi to be working together to jointly coach Liverpool’s next generation of players

The highlight of the day for me was seeing Xabi in our current Red shirt. ❤
I think it must have been at least 5 mins after the ko I was just watching him and not the game itself.
