Former Reds playmaker Philippe Coutinho reacted badly when a journalist showed him the chant that Liverpool fans had made, about Salah, Mane and him leaving the club.
In the winter transfer window, Liverpool reached an agreement to sell Coutinho to Barcelona. The Brazilian, who joined Barcelona in a £142million deal in January, was involved in Brazil’s 1-0 win over Germany in Berlin.
Fresh from his side’s 1-0 win over the World Champions, Coutinho was approached by the chief sports writer from German publication SportBild, Christian Falk. (Liverpool ECHO).
Falk recorded a short seven-second video of the song which includes mentions of Roberto Firmino, Sadio Mane and Mohamed Salah, and how the club sold Coutinho.
However, Coutinho, who left Anfield for Barcelona in January, seemed disinterested in it. According to the Liverpool ECHO, the midfielder gave a blank stare to the German reporter and quickly moved on.
Coutinho started in the Selecao’s victory over the Germans on Tuesday, which was sealed by a first-half header from striker Gabriel Jesus.
I feared that the club would struggle after Coutinho was sold to Barcelona in January. However, since the Brazilian’s departure, the Reds have lost just three games. We have qualified for the Champions League quarter-finals, where we face Manchester City, and we remain well on course to secure a place in the top-four as well.
The absence of Coutinho has been rarely felt as the likes of Sadio Mane and Roberto Firmino have stepped up.
