Solanke claims he’s frustrated at the lack of game time but says that he’s learning

According to the Daily Star, Liverpool starlet Dominic Solanke is getting frustrated over the lack of first-team opportunities this season.

Solanke joined the Reds from Chelsea last summer but is still searching for his first goal for the Merseysiders. The blistering form of Liverpool’s attacking trio of Mohamed Salah, Roberto Firmino, and Sadio Mane has limited the 20-year-old’s first-team opportunities at Anfield.

The striker has failed to nail down a starting place under Klopp and as per the Daily Star

, Solanke is frustrated at his current situation, admitting that it is tough to displace the “crazy” players in front of him.

But when asked if his current frustration was similar to the one he experienced at Chelsea, Solanke told the Daily Star:

“It’s different. It’s always frustrating when you’re not playing, but I’m enjoying it at Liverpool. Being at a club like Liverpool, there’s always a lot of competition so there’s always going to be tough times.

“I’m learning from those around me. There are some crazy players at Liverpool, especially in my position I have definitely learned a lot from that. I’m grateful for that.

“You always have to take the positives from the situation and we’re doing so well at the moment the front players have been phenomenal. It’s a good lesson (training with them).

“Salah is on fire and I’m really happy for him. He is unstoppable at the moment and that’s helping us a lot.”

Solanke has hardly featured under Klopp since completing the full 90 minutes of the 2-1 win at Burnley in January. The striker, however, came on as a substitute to score a late winner for England under-21s in their 2-1 Euro 2018 qualifier win over Ukraine on Tuesday.

It has been a tough ride for Solanke so far as he has failed to secure a first-team place under Klopp. Due to the hot form of our beloved attacking trio of Salah, Firmino, and Mane, it is understandable that the 20-year-old has struggled for regular game time in his debut season at Anfield.

However, Solanke must not lose heart and should continue doing a good job. Sooner than later, he will get his chances and that’s when the young forward has to grab it with both the hands.
