According to the Daily Mirror, Javi Gracia wants Abdoulaye Doucoure to become a European star for Watford but admits that the midfielder will leave for a bigger club in the future.
The Daily Mirror says that Watford will discuss any offers for the midfielder in the summer after Doucoure revealed Liverpool would be a dream move for him.
As quoted by the Daily Mirror, the 25-year-old said: “If there is an offer, we will discuss to find the best solution. Everyone wants to play in the Champions League, the big competitions.”
As per the report, Watford paid £6million to Rennes for the signature of Doucoure in 2016. However, the midfielder, due to his sparkling performances this season, is now rated at £40million by the Hornets.
“He is playing now for a big, big club — Watford,” Gracia was quoted by the Daily Mirror.
“Maybe in the future he can play for another big club who plays in the Champions League. But I would like him to play in the future for Watford in Europe.
“I’m sure Doucoure will help us with his best attitude until the end of the season. Then we will see what happens. I would like him to stay with us for a long time.”
The Daily Mirror claims that the likes of Liverpool, Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur are all monitoring Doucoure due to his combative displays for Watford this campaign.
Doucoure deserves endless plaudits for his efforts this season. He has been a huge asset for the Hornets, with the midfielder emerging as a surprise package.
Doucoure is everything a Premier League central midfielder should be – strong, athletic, powerful, and intelligent. For now, the Frenchman is a Watford star and the fans should enjoy every minute he is on the pitch.
