Jurgen Klopp has confirmed that Emre Can will be out of Liverpool’s trip to Crystal Palace on Saturday but revealed that Nathaniel Clyne has returned to the first-team squad.

According to Liverpoolfc.com, Can was forced to withdraw from the German national squad earlier this week after struggling with the back injury he sustained prior to the international break.

The midfielder won’t be risked at Crystal Palace as he continues his treatment, though Klopp does not expect a lengthy absence.

“Emre is out for the weekend,” Klopp told Liverpoolfc.com. “[He is] getting better and better and better, much better. Hopefully he can have a normal session with us on Sunday morning and then should be fine again.”

Trent Alexander-Arnold missed England U21s’ win over Ukraine earlier this week but Klopp has confirmed that the young right-back is ‘fine’.

A news that would certainly bring smiles to the faces of Liverpool fans is the return of Nathaniel Clyne from a long-term injury layoff. The Liverpool gaffer told Liverpoolfc.com that Clyne is ready for his first appearance of the campaign since injuring his back in the pre-season.

“Clyney is back. He played last week for the U23s. One or two games more would be nice but the situation is like it is. We have Clyney,” Klopp said.

“I said yesterday to the boys that we lost Joe but finally we got Clyney back. He has been back for a few weeks already but he has come closer and closer. He is a very good option.”

Liverpoolfc.com also revealed that Dominic Solanke and Andy Robertson should be available for the clash against Palace at Selhurst Park despite suffering minor knocks while representing their nations.

On Solanke’s toe injury, Klopp explained: “He is fine and will be fine today, I hope. After training I’ll know more about that.”

On Robertson’s injury, he said: “It was a dead leg, no problem.

Liverpool have to win against Palace at any cost on Saturday. The Reds have to constantly produce positive results from tomorrow until the final league game to secure a top-four spot.
