According to Sadio Mane, Liverpool’s job in the quarter-finals of the Champions League is half done and it will be a tough contest against Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium on Tuesday.

The Reds will travel to Manchester City on Tuesday, taking nothing for granted but hopeful of securing a place in the last four of the Champions League.

At the halfway stage of the last-eight tie, Liverpool hold a massive 3-0 advantage, having crushed City by producing some scintillating attacking football.

Despite holding a solid 3-0 advantage, Mane feels that the job is not done yet but admits that our club have a chance to qualify for the semi-finals of the Champions League.

“Of course we have a chance. It will not be easy for both teams but we’re going to go there and try to do our best and qualify – for the club and for the fans,” Mane told Liverpoolfc.com.

Mane was the only one of Liverpool’s fiery front three to start Saturday’s Merseyside derby at Everton, as injuries and the hectic fixture schedule saw Jurgen Klopp heavily rotate his squad.

Roberto Firmino did enter the fray in the second-half of the goalless draw against Everton and Klopp is optimistic that Salah too will recover in time to face City tomorrow.

“Bobby was on the bench and Mo had a little [issue] with his groin but I think everything is fine,” Mane added.

“We have the players to cope with that – we are a strong team, we are Liverpool. We’re going to try to do our best and qualify for the next round.”

Indeed, it is going to be a very engaging contest at the Etihad tomorrow. City will go all guns blazing from the blow of the whistle, while Liverpool should somehow try and nick an away goal to kill the game as quickly as possible.
