Alisson Becker

Alisson Becker was one of the stars as AS Roma dumped out Barcelona in the UEFA Champions League quarter-finals. The Brazilian has grown in stature at the Serie A club and has been linked with a move away from the club, with Liverpool being interested in the 25-year-old.

However, AS Roma chief James Pallotta shot down any plans of Alisson leaving in the summer. The chief was quoted by the Daily Mirror as saying:

“Why should he leave? He has a contract and he’s a very good goalkeeper.”

Liverpool too are in the semi-finals of the Champions League, thanks to a 5-1 aggregate win over Manchester City but there has been a lot of talk regarding the status of the goalkeepers at the club.

Loris Karius has become our new No.1 and has done pretty well since taking over from Simon Mignolet midway through the season. The young German has given a few quality performances.

The Reds have been great in the Champions League this season and will be looking forward to the semi-final draw.

We haven’t reached this stage of the competition since 2007 when we lost the final to AC Milan but should we keep playing in the same manner, we might just emulate what we did back then and even achieve the unimaginable by doing an Istanbul.
