As per a report from The Mirror, Liverpool are eyeing a summer move for Norwich City sensation James Maddison. The 21-year-old has been one of the most impressive stars in the Championship this season and based on his stupendous displays, it is quite evident that Maddison is destined for the Premier League.
The Reds have been in excellent form this season and have reached the semi-finals of the Champions League as well. Surely, the prospect of playing for us would appeal to the talented youngster.
An out-and-out creative midfielder, Maddison has contributed 15 goals and 8 assists for Norwich this season. Maddison has also created a whopping 112 chances in 40 Championship outings for Daniel Farke’s men this term.
To be fair, Liverpool have no reason to complain about the attack this season but Philippe Coutinho’s departure means that we need a creative midfielder. Considering how Mohamed Salah, Sadio Mane and Roberto Firmino have been smashing the goals, imagine what they could do with a player like Maddison providing a steady supply of goalscoring chances.
The Mirror has gone on to claim that Maddison is valued at £30million by Norwich, which is a fair price in an inflated transfer market.
Maddison seems like a star for the future and given the way he has been performing, he could work wonders in the top-flight. However, the competition to acquire his services will be fierce and it remains to be seen if we succeed in luring him to Anfield.
