Dani Ceballos

As per a report from Calciomercato, Liverpool are edging closer towards a sensational summer swoop for Real Madrid midfielder Dani Ceballos. The report has gone on to claim that a four-year deal is on the cards and that we have already reached an agreement with Ceballos.

The youngster joined Los Blancos only about a year back from Real Betis but despite completing the highly-anticipated move, Ceballos has failed to make an impact for the club.

He did score a stunning brace on his first league start, against Deportivo Alaves but since then, his game time has taken a significant hit. One cannot really blame him because Real have some of the best midfielders in the business right now and it can be a daunting task for a youngster to even try and reach their level.

At 21 years of age, it makes no sense for Ceballos to continue at a club where he is yet to nail a regular spot for himself in the first-team. With interest stemming from Liverpool, the player would be better off donning a red jersey next season.

A report from Daily Star has also claimed that Ceballos could go on to become a replacement for Emre Can. The young German’s performances have been rather underwhelming this season and his contract is set to expire at the end of this campaign.

Thus, if he were to leave, we would have a void in the middle of the park and a promising star like Ceballos could work wonders for us. Jurgen Klopp seems to have a way with nurturing young talents, as seen in the cases of Trent Alexander-Arnold and Joe Gomez, and there is no reason why he cannot do something similar with Ceballos.

Needless to say, the Spain U21 star could be a great summer purchase for us and he would certainly look sharp in Liverpool colours!
