Liverpool’s preparations for the UEFA Champions League clash against Roma didn’t go well as West Bromwich Albion came back from two goals down to earn a point.
Jurgen Klopp made a number of changes to the starting XI, playing Ragnar Klavan, Alberto Moreno and Danny Ings, and it was the striker who opened the scoring.
Ings scored his first goal in 2.5 years and he should have won a penalty too but the referee missed a clear foul on the Englishman.
Ahmed Hegazi too should have been sent off as he punched Ings when he fell on our striker but it seemed like Mohamed Salah was going to make West Brom pay when he scored his 41st goal of the season.
Things did not end well for us as we let Jake Livermore score from a corner, after a lot of scrapping about. Salomon Rondon got the second goal from a free-kick that should never have been, as West Brom stole a point.
Nevertheless, we should see a number of first-team players return for the match against Roma but there were a number of angry and frustrating reactions on Twitter.

Right, time to log off, but special word for Danny Ings – great goal, and “won” a penalty the ref ignored. Chuffed for him. Defence crumbled at the end but 3 of back four have barely played in 2018, and tired. Hegazi to get 3-game ban – too late for LFC today.

After his strange performance punching and slapping Liverpool players today, someone had a little fun updating Ahmed Hegazi’s Wikipedia page #LFC #WBALIV pic.twitter.com/aI2QEa0mhH

Once again proving why English referee’s are not fit for the job and why they’re not going to the world cup#WBALIV #JokeReferee https://t.co/TDz7XwbAbq

Dont think he needed it, but today should be a loud reminder to Klopp that #LFC:
– lack depth
– need another CB
– cant be 100% certain Karius is the answer
– need a LB to back up Robertson— Greg_YNWA1 (@Greg_YNWA1) April 21, 2018
Three PL penalties for LFC this season, but six against. Despite GD of +43. According to @LFCMbM – worst in club’s entire history based on balance of expectations (if related to penalties scored for pens won and goals conceded for pens conceded). Now 7 STONEWALL pens ignored.

One would prefer to watch a game of football whose result is not significantly influenced by the standards of officiating. #lfc

At this rate let’s forget the hype and marketing Mo Salah is better than Hazard, Neymar, Mbappe. He may end up being the real heir apparent of Ronaldo and Messi if he can keep his discipline and maintain full level of fitness.#LFC #WBALIV #WBA
