Alisson Becker

According to Don Balon, Liverpool are working on a deal to sign Alisson Becker from AS Roma at the end of the season.

The Don Balon claim that Jurgen Klopp feels his Liverpool’s weakest link lies in goal, with neither Loris Karius nor Simon Mignolet inspiring confidence this season. As a result, Klopp is already working hard on a deal to sign Alisson, who is also wanted by Real Madrid in the summer, the report adds.

Speaking about Alisson, the Brazilian started out at Internacional in 2013 before moving to AS Roma three years later. He did not feature at all for the Serie A club in his debut season and acted as an understudy to Wojciech Szczesny.

However, Szczesny’s departure to Juventus last summer saw Alisson become Roma’s No.1 and from then, there has been no looking back. The Brazilian has been stellar for the Italian club this season, establishing himself as one of the top goalkeepers across Europe.

One of Alisson’s strengths is his distribution and ability to be in the right position at the right time. He has top reflexes, very good shot-stopping abilities and doesn’t panic under pressure.

In just a couple of years, the Brazilian’s fantastic displays between the sticks have seen his stock rise in Europe, with Don Balon also reporting that French giants Paris Saint-Germain are also keen for his services.

As far as Liverpool are concerned, Klopp will get a chance to watch Alisson closely in the semi-finals of the Champions League. In my opinion, the Reds should offload Mignolet in the summer and try everything to get a deal done for Alisson, who continues to dazzle in Italy.
