Predicted Liverpool Line-up To Face AS Roma In Champions League Semi-final

Liverpool’s preparations for the Champions League semi-final first leg against AS Roma didn’t go as planned as the side let go of a two-goal lead against West Bromwich Albion.

Roma, on the other hand, celebrated a 3-0 win over SPAL and even rested a few players as they travel to Anfield for the first leg.

Jurgen Klopp did make a few changes to his side as well but was disappointed with the point at the Hawthorns.

The German will be looking to play his first-team and hopefully, pick up an important win with a decent enough margin given that Roma had overturned a 4-1 deficit against Barcelona in the last round.

Mohamed Salah would be one player to watch out for as he won the PFA Player of the Year award and is on 41 goals for the season. Liverpool would have to be wary of Edin Dzeko too as the former Manchester City man still seems to be up for a battle.

Probable Liverpool XI

Formation: 4-3-3

Loris Karius (GK)

The German should start in goal and even though he conceded two against West Brom, Karius has been excellent for us between the sticks in the Champions League.

Trent Alexander-Arnold (RB)

Trent did not play in the last game and we did miss something in the final third and in defence as Joe Gomez struggled down the right-wing. Trent will be an important player for us in the tie.

Trent Alexander-Arnold

Dejan Lovren (CB)

Lovren was another player who did not start against West Brom but he did come on in the last few minutes. The Croatian will be looking to keep Roma at bay for the entire 90 minutes.

Virgil van Dijk (CB)

The Dutch defender has been great for us since joining from Southampton and hopefully, he will lead the defence and keep a clean sheet too.

Andy Robertson (LB)

Robertson has been one of the buys of the season and the Scot should return to the team to face the Serie A side.

Andrew Robertson

Jordan Henderson (CM)

Henderson has to be at his best if we are to dominate against AS Roma and this would be a real test to see how good the Englishman has become under Klopp.

James Milner (CM)

Milner has been rejuvenated in the Champions League and the former Manchester City man should partner Hendo in the midfield.

Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain (CM)

The Ox has been another player that has progressed well under Klopp and his incisive runs will be crucial if we are to supply our attackers with the right chances to score.

Mohamed Salah

Mohamed Salah (RW)

It will be a reunion of sorts for Salah as he would be facing his old team at Anfield. Everyone knows what the Egyptian is capable of doing and I hope that he scores a goal or two for us in the game.

Sadio Mane (LW)

Mane seems to have found his mojo back and has to start this match. He could be the X-factor for us.

Roberto Firmino (ST)

Firmino did not start the game against West Brom and made a cameo appearance late on but he should be ready to face Roma at Anfield.
