Chelsea have endured a dismal season this term and it is highly likely that the form of Kevin be Bruyne and Mohamed Salah might have made things worse. Both players have been the best in the Premier League this season and it is worth noting that they were touted as flops during their stints with the London-based outfit.

De Bruyne and Salah have been exceptional for their respective teams, Manchester City and Liverpool, throughout the ongoing campaign.

Salah recently picked up the PFA Player of The Year award and has played a pivotal role in most of our success this season. Forming a solid partnership with the likes of Sadio Mane and Roberto Firmino, Salah has been an absolute revelation for Liverpool.

He is on the verge of breaking club legend Ian Rush’s record of scoring 47 goals in a single top-flight season and if he achieves that, there is no doubt that Salah’s name will be scripted amongst the modern-day Liverpool icons.

Our gaffer Jurgen Klopp has provided an insight on how he secured the deal for the highly-valued Egyptian last summer (The Guardian).

“I always meet the player before we sign,” Klopp told. “That’s when I decide because I have a good feeling for people.

“It was a fantastic talk. He’s open, smiling all the time. He has crazy curls but he’s a really nice boy. He also looked much more mature than it says on his passport. Twenty-four? I was [like]: ‘Wow, really?’

“We talked for three hours about everything from his family to my family and at the end we had a deal to work together.

“I like to remind players from time to time of that agreement. It’s working really well with Mo.”

It certainly is! Quite often, we hear about foreign players struggling to cope with the physicality and demands of the Premier League and yet, Salah has made it seem like a cakewalk this season.

Of course, he does boast of prior experience in the English top-flight but as of today, Salah is a superstar in the truest sense of the word.

In the games to come, Salah will once again essay a crucial role for us and regardless of how that turns out, one cannot deny that the Egyptian marvel is arguably the signing of the season.
