The uncertainty surrounding Emre Can’s future has been the cause for a lot of debate among fans and critics alike in recent times. However, if a report from The Mirror is to be believed, the player will provide an update pretty soon.
The report claims that the likes of Bayern Munich and Juventus are eyeing a summer swoop for Can, whose contract is set to expire at the end of the season. As per Tuttosport (h/t The Mirror), Juve are expecting an answer from Can within the next few days.
Liverpool have been in talks with him about a new contract, as per the same report but nothing concrete has materialised so far. With his future at Merseyside looking increasingly uncertain, the Italian giants are understood to be the front-runners in the race to acquire his signature, according to The Mirror.
Can is currently down with a back injury and is out of action but he played quite regularly for us this season when he was fit.
The 24-year-old midfielder boasts of exceptional talent and potential but somehow, his performances have not really hit the mark in the ongoing campaign.
However, one cannot deny that he is a key player for us and losing him for free will certainly be a loss for the club. On a good day, the German can be a lethal box-to-box midfielder and perhaps he just needs the right setup to thrive.
Nevertheless, with the player seemingly intent on moving out of Anfield, it remains to be seen if he chooses Bayern or Juventus as his preferred destination.
