Jurgen Klopp spoke to the media prior to the upcoming clash against Chelsea. After a sensational triumph against AS Roma in the Champions League, the Reds will be up against Premier League defending champions Chelsea on Sunday. And the Reds will be aware of the fact that a point against the Blues should be enough to ensure a top-four spot, given their greater goal difference compared to Antonio Conte’s men.

The German was quoted by the Liverpool Echo and he added that two players could be returning soon for the side:

“Adam (Lallana) had his first real football session (yesterday) in Rome. That’s good. Emre (Can) has an important day on Monday.”

The former Borussia Dortmund manager also added that Can could be available for the Champions League final but Joe Gomez’s final assessment will take some time.

“I was in contact with Emre Can and maybe next Monday we can make the decision if he starts training with us and if it is good news for the final.

Probably not for the Brighton game.

Joe Gomez? We wait for the final assessment in a few days but he is not available for Chelsea.”

It will be great if Can and Lallana can get a run out before the Champions League final as we could rest the likes of James Milner and Jordan Henderson.

Our midfield has already been stretched to the unfortunate injury to Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and we need to scrape past the Blues and secure a positive result at the Bridge before the final game of the season against Brighton.

That said, the players are expected to be on a high after the brilliant Champions League performance and if we play our cards right, we might be able to seal all of three points against the Blues on Sunday.
