Rhian Brewster

As per a report from The Guardian, Liverpool could lose Rhian Brewster to the Bundesliga this summer. The teenage striker is yet to receive a professional contract but it seems like he is on the fence about committing his future to Liverpool.

Although the likes of Andy Robertson, Joe Gomez and Trent Alexander-Arnold have received adequate first-team opportunities this season, it is noteworthy that Ben Woodburn has had to be content with just one substitute appearance.

Woodburn is a forward by trade and anybody who does not live under a rock will be aware of how strong our attacking trio has been this season.

Mohamed Salah, Roberto Firmino and Sadio Mane have been absolutely indispensable and it is evident that Jurgen Klopp is building his team around them. In such a situation, it leaves little scope for a winger like Brewster to be open to the idea of a long-term future at Anfield.

One cannot blame him because he seems to be quite far behind in the pecking order despite his talent and potential. After all, we are looking at a player who picked up the Golden Boot in the FIFA U17 World Cup held in India last year.

The Guardian has claimed that RB Leipzig and Borussia Dortmund are both interested but Borussia Monchengladbach are understood to be the front-runners.

Moving to Germany will certainly boost the 18-year-old Brewster’s chances of securing regular first-team action but it would be criminal for Liverpool – or any other team – to miss out on his prowess. The report

claims that Liverpool officials are working towards offering him a suitable contract so let’s see how the whole story unfolds itself.
