Liverpool pulled off a sensational 4-0 win against Brighton & Hove Albion at Anfield as the season came to an end. We have been through several ups and downs this term but nothing can undermine the success of our team this season.
The win means that we have finished the season unbeaten at Anfield. We also managed to finish in the top-four and now we have booked a spot in next term’s Champions League as well. To truly take things to the next level, Mohamed Salah beat Harry Kane to win the coveted Golden Boot. Regardless of how we fare at Kiev, this has undeniably been a good season for us. With that in mind, let’s take a look at how our players fared against Brighton.
Made some routine saves and secured a clean sheet.
Finished the season in style with a marauding display. He attacked and defended with equal gusto and his performance was the perfect way to end a good season.
A clean defensive performance from van Dijk, who only seems to be getting better with every passing game.
Despite all the criticism, Lovren seems to be determined to prove his naysayers wrong. He scored a goal, defended admirably and his partnership with van Dijk is truly taking shape.
Provided the cross for Lovren’s goal and chipped in with one later on. Impressive show from the left-back.
Henderson dominated the midfield like nobody’s business and he was one of the most influential players on the field.
Maintained momentum in the middle of the park and contributed well to the attack.
Was deployed in a deeper role but that did not stop the Brazilian from attacking.
Despite being marked tightly, Salah scored a sensational goal which secured his Golden Boot award. He also provided a generous assist to set up Solanke’s goal.
It was a bit odd to see Mane in the line-up since he is suffering from an injury. His movement was top-notch but it is clear that the Senegalese star is in dire need of some rest.
A well-deserved goal from the youngster, who put in a solid all-around performance.
Lallana put in a fine performance and his impact was rather immediate.
Came on too late, which is rather unfortunate for the youngster.
Did not have enough time to make an impact.
