Liverpool fans have enjoyed a lot of good fortune lately and the win against AS Roma at Anfield was certainly one of the best moments from the season. But an injury to Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain put the Liverpool camp in a sombre mood.
The midfielder managed to establish himself as a key part of the current team despite making a slow start but due to the injury, he will now have to miss out on the action for quite some time.
His surgery is done with and the result was positive but if a report from Liverpool Echo is to be believed, Ox might not feature for Liverpool until November.
The report goes on to state that Ox has begun his rehabilitation process at Melwood on crutches but for him to truly recover and return to match fitness, it could take six months or more.
This indeed comes at an unfortunate time for Ox. He is a player filled with immense potential but every time he comes close to reaching his peak form, his progress gets stunted due to injuries.
It will be crucial now for Klopp to strengthen our forces in the midfield area and that could make it tough for Ox to make room for himself in the squad once he recovers.
However, he has been an important player for us in recent times and surely, that will place him in good stead with our gaffer. With Liverpool keen on mounting a solid title challenge next term, we will need all hands on the deck and let’s hope Ox recovers smoothly.
Get well soon, Oxlade-Chamberlain!
