Liverpool have enjoyed a fantastic season in the Premier League but our work is far from over since we need to focus on preparing for an epic Champions League final with Real Madrid.
Beating Real to win the Champions League will undoubtedly be a major achievement for us and English football, in general.
The colossal clash will take place in Kiev on May 26th but regardless of how we perform, the upcoming summer transfer window will be an important phase for us.
Going into the 2017/18 season, Liverpool lacked depth in certain areas and yet, we managed to finish in the top-four. Our attack has been unstoppable and the likes of Mohamed Salah, Roberto Firmino and Sadio Mane deserve a lot of credit for that.
However, there are areas in our midfield and defence that require strengthening and we must address those concerns once the transfer window commences.
That said, we must not undermine the hard work put in by some of our current players. The likes of Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, Trent Alexander-Arnold, James Milner and Andy Robertson have been quite resourceful and we must continue working with them.
Jurgen Klopp clearly belongs to the same school of thought as far as summer transfers are concerned. Speaking to Sky Sports in a recent interview, our gaffer said:
“We need more players here and there, but I am still a big believer in developing and developing a team, and these boys made a big step and I am sure they will take another step.”
The possibility of Champions League victory does seem like a sweet thought but next season, Liverpool must go all guns blazing to make a solid Premier League title challenge. To do so, we must make smart signings this summer.
