According to a report from ESPN, Liverpool are interested in a summer swoop for Chelsea starlet Isaac Christie-Davies. We could land him on a free transfer and given his potential, it does look like a good deal.

As far as procuring young talent from the Blues are concerned, we hit jackpot with Dominic Solanke and it looks like we could do the same with Christie-Davies. Chelsea have not offered the 20-year-old a new deal so far and his current contract expires this summer.

ESPN claims that a few other clubs are also observing his situation but Liverpool had already offered him a trial in March.

A midfielder by trade, Christie-Davies could become an integral part of our team. We are experiencing a shortage in the midfield department right now and Jurgen Klopp needs to strengthen this area. A player like Christie-Davies could come in handy since we will be competing in four tournaments next season.

ESPN has also reported that the youngster did decently enough during his trial, meaning a move to Anfield could be on the cards. He will of course not feature immediately for the first-team and is likely to play with the U23s but if he impresses our gaffer, Christie-Davies will undeniably stand a chance of making room for himself.

Despite winning the FA Youth Cup twice and the UEFA Youth League with Chelsea, it is surprising that the club has not offered the former Brighton starlet a new contract. It remains to be seen if we sign him but if we do, it will be a worthy move.
