Nabil Fekir

Nabil Fekir’s future at Lyon would be discussed soon according to President Jean-Michel Aulas as the French forward has been linked with a move to Liverpool. The 24-year-old scored 18 times and provided 8 assists for the club as they finished 3rd in Ligue 1.

Aulas was speaking after the club’s 3-2 in over Nice where he suggested that he would be listening to what Fekir wants, just as he had done for former Lyon players Corentin Tolisso and Alexandre Lacazette.

“For the moment we have not discussed it, we wanted to see which competition we would be playing in next season.

“I am someone who respects my players’ wishes once they have brought what they have brought, like Tolisso, Lacazette. We will discuss to see what Nabil wants,” Aulas was quoted by Metro.

Tolisso and Lacazette both got moves away from Lyon and it would not be a surprise if Fekir did seal a move to the Premier League next season.

The Frenchman has certainly been one of the bright spots in Ligue 1 if we are looking beyond the firepower of Paris Saint-Germain.

The 24-year-old is capable of playing across the front-line and would be a great asset to Jurgen Klopp and the rest of the team should we be able to sign him up.

There is no doubt that we need more quality and depth in the side, even though we have made it to the Champions League final this season and also finishing in the top-four.

Sadio Mane, Mohamed Salah and Roberto Firmino hav e been the stars in our attack and if we do bring in Fekir, we might be able to rest one of the three and also bring in another dimension to our play.

We have seen a few French imports do well in the Premier League in recent seasons and hopefully, Fekir can be another one soon.
