It was a moment where collectively the hearts of several Liverpool fans stopped beating at once. For all of Mohamed Salah’s heroics in the past season, it almost seemed cruel as to how things unravelled when it mattered the most for the player, the club and the fans.

Months of anticipation and preparations later, Salah had to be taken off the field in the first-half of the Champions League final, owing to a nasty tackle by controversy’s favourite child, Sergio Ramos.

Watching Salah in tears was indeed a heartbreaking moment and one that nobody expected. In his 44-goal journey with Liverpool, the Egyptian managed to win admirers among fans and critics alike.

The Champions League final against Real Madrid was supposed to be his night as he continued his spectacular performances to end the season on a high but unfortunately, Salah is now down with a shoulder injury which also jeopardised his chances of playing in the World Cup next month.

However, Salah is known to be a resilient fighter and his latest tweet seems to be proof of that. The player took to Twitter to confirm that he is determined to make it to the World Cup.

Undoubtedly, Salah is a key player for Egypt and is a key reason as to why they secured a qualification in the first place. His attacking prowess, goalscoring potential and pace can prove to be the undoing of even the toughest of sides and after the fateful night in Kiev, a lot of fans will be hoping that he features for Egypt in Russia.
