Yaya Toure’s agent Dimitri Seluk has come out and stated that the former Manchester City star is willing to play for any of the top six clubs for a weekly wage of £1 only.
The Ivorian, after leaving City, launched a scathing attack on Pep Guardiola over the treatment meted out to the player and Seluk continued doing the same as he added that Pep had “turned Africa against himself.”
The Mirror quoted the agent of Toure, who also added that the player would require a bonus system too should there be some success at any of the top-six sides he joins.
“At a time when big sums are being paid, I officially declare that Yaya is ready to move as a free agent to any English club in the top six with a salary of £1 pound a week. But with a bonus system based on certain successes.”
The agent also believed that Toure would not “harm” any of the top sides too.
“I believe that a player like Yaya would not harm Arsenal, Chelsea, Manchester United, Tottenham and Liverpool. “
The report also claimed that Toure was earning £220,000-a-week at City.
An ageing powerhouse but a decent option for the Reds
Toure is 35 years old and it should come as no surprise that his agent is trying to get him one more deal in the limelight.
However, it is surprising how Seluk is claiming that Yaya will be willing to pay for just £1/week. The Ivorian might not have the ability to play two games every week but he would make a decent squad option. Given his experience of winning trophies with City and Barcelona, he could add something that the Liverpool team lacks – the winning mentality.
