Liverpool lead the race to sign Richarlison from Watford after the collapse of the Nail Fekir deal and Paddy Power have slashed the odds on the Brazilian joining us this summer.
The Reds were left wanting as a deal for Fekir could not be concluded and the Express reports that the bookmakers have slashed the odds from 33/1 to 4/1 for the 21-year-old Richarlison to join us.
A spokesman for Paddy Power said:
“Liverpool are clearly keen to land an attacking midfielder this summer and the mysterious breakdown of their top target – the unlucky Fekir – has left an opening.
“Punters clearly think that Richarlison is a contender, as we’ve seen a stream of bets this afternoon, leaving us with no option but to slash the odds of him joining Liverpool.”
The youngster scored 5 goals and assisted another 4 for the Hornets but he could not keep up his level in the second half of the season as his side slid down the table.
Manchester United and Chelsea are also interested in the Brazilian after a decent enough first season in the Premier League.
Richarlison would not be a bad option to have coming off the bench and if he plays in the right frame of mind, there are very few players that can be better than him in the Premier League.
The problem is his consistency, as we saw in the second half of the campaign last season but if anyone can get the best out of a player it would be Jurgen Klopp.
With the Fekir deal more or less over, we will need to bring in an attack-minded player for next season and possibly, Richarlison will not be the last player linked with a move to Anfield.
