AS Roma will try to do everything they can to keep Alisson as they do not want to lose another star player this season, according to football expert Gabriele Marcotti.

The Brazilian keeper has been linked with a move to Liverpool, however, Marcotti believes that Alisson would not be moving anywhere else as Roma have slapped a price tag of £80m.

Speaking to ESPN FC (h/t The Express), Marcotti said:

“I think there is contract negotiation going on. From what I’ve been told, this is unlikely to get done before the World Cup, if at all.”

Marcotti also added that Roma had helped Liverpool last season by selling Mohamed Salah and both clubs have a great relationship since they are Boston-owned.

The expert further added:

“They don’t want to let another world-beater get away this soon.”

Alisson would be the No.1 for Brazil in the World Cup and Marcotti also added that a decision could be made by Roma after the tournament. This will come as a huge blow to Jurgen Klopp and Liverpool as we seem desperate to sign a new goalkeeper.

While his price tag is certainly high, that is what you have to pay to sign the best players for your team. This could see us not move for Alisson at all and target a new keeper or stick with Loris Karius and Danny Ward for next season.

Karius would need a lot of backing from Klopp but if the German can work his magic on the former Mainz keeper, we might just be alright.
