Lionel Messi wants Barcelona to sign Mohamed Salah from Liverpool in case the Catalan club cannot complete a deal for Antoine Griezmann of Atletico Madrid.
Diario Gol (h/t The Express) claims that the Argentine wants the Egyptian to play at the Camp Nou as Griezmann is yet to make a decision over where he might play next season.
It is a complicated time for Atletico given that they have agreed to sign Thomas Lemar from Monaco next season, meaning there will be a lot of competition for starting places at the club.
The report also claims that we are looking for at least €150m for the 25-year-old, who won the Golden Boot in his first season back in the Premier League.
Salah scored 44 goals in all competitions for us and will be looking to add to the goal tally for his country in the World Cup.
The report also adds that Salah is set to snub any interest from Barcelona’s rivals Real Madrid. The Egyptian is still miffed with how Sergio Ramos injured his shoulder in the Champions League final.
Salah was our best player last season and we simply cannot lose him if we are to become one of the best sides in the world. The 25-year-old formed a great partnership with Roberto Firmino and Sadio Mane and will only get better next season.
Additionally, the reported fee of €150m is extremely low and we cannot even think of selling him at such a price. Hopefully, Salah will quash any rumours of leaving the side and lead us to glory for a number of years to come.
