Bayern Munich CEO Karl-Heinz Rummenigge has spoken about Thiago Alcantara’s future at the club, claiming that no club has come to them to talk about the midfielder. Also, Rummenigge has told Sport that Thiago has not asked about a move either.

However, the former Germany international has admitted that Bayern probably have a few too many midfielders, with Thiago, Javi Martinez, Arturo Vidal, Corentin Tolisso and Sebastian Rudy all playing a part in the club’s title triumph this past season.

But do Rummenigge’s recent comments mean Thiago will be available in the transfer market this summer?

Thiago, a product of the La Masia academy, joined Bayern Munich in 2013 and has gone onto establish himself as one of the exciting midfield prospects in the Bundesliga. At Bayern, the 27-year-old has won eight trophies, including the Bundesliga in each of his first five seasons.

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp

The Spaniard is a technically gifted midfielder, with his ease in possession and remarkable comfort on the ball in tight spaces leading to extremely efficient performances in every game for the Bavarians. Thiago’s agility allows him to glide past defenders with so much ease and make room for himself before launching a shot on goal.

Knowing that Thiago is a complete midfielder, should Liverpool make a bid for him this summer? Tough to say as Liverpool are somewhat packed in midfield, with Naby Keita set to arrive from RB Leipzig. But Jurgen Klopp’s array of midfielders lack the creativity and spark which Thiago is renowned for.

Given his ability to create chances out of nothing, Thiago could be the ideal long-term replacement for Philippe Coutinho at Anfield. The Liverpool fans would simply love to have Thiago and that’s what some reactions from Twitter suggest.
