Liverpool will not part company with Daniel Sturridge on the cheap and would be looking for at least £15million for the English striker, according to The Telegraph.
Sturridge played half of last season away on loan at West Bromwich Albion as he hoped to make it to the England squad for the World Cup. But his injury problems resurfaced at the Hawthorns.
The 28-year-old only played six games for the relegated side and only started a couple of games. The report also claims that the Reds are open to offers for the English striker, as they were last summer, but are not ready to let him go easily.
The 28-year-old has one more year left on his contract and could stay around at Anfield for another six months before negotiating with non-English clubs regarding a Bosman transfer.
What is important for us is that the likes of Sevilla and Fenerbahce could be interested in the striker. Sevilla were linked
with a move for the 28-year-old in the January window but Sturridge wanted to remain in England at that time. However, the move to the West Brom failed to deliver expected results. It should come as no surprise that we are willing to let go of the player who is not the first-choice any more after the incredible form of Mohamed Salah, Sadio Mane and Roberto Firmino up front.
Getting a club to spend £15million
on a player that barely seems to be injury-free does seem like a high price and it is really doubtful if any club would be willing to part with that kind of money. Hopefully, we can sell Sturridge quickly in the transfer window and use the funds to add more quality to the side.Wesley Sneijder has some words of wisdom for Liverpool bound Arne Slot Former Dutch international,…
