Naby Keita is finally here, as the Daily Mail claims the Guinea star arrived in Liverpool on Friday and will be meeting up with his teammates soon.
The former RB Leipzig man has joined us on a reported £53million deal, which we had completed last summer. However, the midfielder had to remain at Leipzig for the entirety of last season.
Our pre-season games kick off rather soon, even though the World Cup is on, and with Keita not travelling to Russia, we could see him in action on 7th July as we face Chester.
We also have a number of clashes in the United States, which is where we should get to see more of Keita should he not play the games in the UK.
The 23-year-old should do a great job for us and with another star like Fabinho coming in, our midfield might actually be able to dominate the opposition.
While we have lost Emre Can to Juventus, Keita is not a bad replacement. We should have a lot more strength in the heart of the midfield with Keita and Fabinho playing alongside each other.
Our attention should now turn to the attack as we do need some fresh firepower in the side. Keita was one of the stars for Leipzig a couple of seasons ago and even though he didn’t have a great season last time around, with just 6 goals and 5 assists in the Bundesliga, the Guinea man should do really well for Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool this season.
