Liverpool would have to pay £62m, which is £10m more than the initial price if they are to sign Nabil Fekir from Lyon, according to The Mirror.

As we all know, Fekir’s move to Anfield fell through at the last minute before the start of the World Cup and now clubs like Real Madrid are also interested in the Lyon star.

However, we are not out of the running and could make another bid for the Frenchman, possibly after the end of the World Cup. The 24-year-old is with France at the World Cup and played 30 minutes in total against Peru and Australia, matches that Les Bleus won.

Lyon are known to be difficult when dealing with negotiations and even if Fekir’s knee holds up, the French club will be looking to drive up the price with the reported interested of Madrid coming in.

Jurgen Klopp does need another star attacker in the side and Fekir would fit in perfectly. The 24-year-old can get better under the right management and he is ready to take the next step away from French football.

It would have been great to see Fekir join us before the start of the World Cup but sometimes, we have to wait for the best things in life.

Naby Keita and Virgil van Dijk’s deals took time to complete but they did join the club and it looks like it will be a similar story with Fekir.
